The flag of Tajikistan is a horizontal tricolour of (from the top of the flag to the bottom of the flag) red, white and green. At the centre of the flag is a gold crown, above which sits an arc of seven five-pointed stars. The flag of Tajikistan was officially adopted on 24 November 1992 following the country gaining its independence from the USSR.
The flag of Tajikistan's colours of red, white and green are drawn from those of the flag of the Tadzhik Soviet Socialist Republic.
The flag's ratio is 1:2.
