Sao Tome And Principe flag
The flag of Sao Tome And Principe comprises three horizontal bands of (from the top of the flag to the bottom of the flag) green, yellow and green. At the centre of the yellow band are two black five pointed stars. At the hoist side of the flag is a red triangle. The flag's main colours are those of the Pan African colours. The flag's two black stars represent the two islands that make up Sao Tome And Principe. The flag's design was inspired by the flag of the Movement for the Liberation of Sao Tome And Principe.
The flag of Sao Tome And Principe was officially adopted on 12 July 1975 following the country gaining its independence from Portugal.
The flag's ratio is 1:2.
