The flag of Saint Lucia is set on a light blue field and features a yellow triangle in the forgeground of a black triangle with a white edge.
The flag's colour of blue is said to represent the sea. The symbol at the flag's centre is said to represent the twin peaks of the Pitons (famous volcanic mountains in Saint Lucia). The symbol's yellow triangle is said to stand for sunshine whilst the black and white colours of the arrowhead are said to represent the twin cultures of Saint Lucia.
The flag of Saint Lucia was officially adopted on 1 March 1967 following the achievement of self government. The flag was designed by local artist Dunstan St Omer.
The flag's ratio is 1:2.
