The flag of Papua New Guinea is divided diagonally from the upper hoist corner to the lower fly corner with the upper triangle featuring the colour red and the lower triangle featuring the colour black. Inside the red section of the flag sits a Raggiana Bird whilst the Southern Cross constellation sits inside the black section of the flag.
The flag of Papua New Guinea was officially adopted on 1 July 1971 and was designed by local art student Susan Karike.
The flag's ratio is 3:4.
