The flag of Niger is a horizontal tricolour featuring the colours (from the top of the flag to the bottom of the flag) orange, white and green. At the centre of the flag is an orange roundel. The flag's colours of orange, white and green are said to stand for Niger's savannah grasslands, the Niger River and the country's rain forests respectively, whilst the orange roundel is said to represent the sun.
The flag of Niger was officially adopted on 23 November 1959 just prior to the country gaining its full independence from French West Africa.
The flag's ratio isĀ 6:7.
