The flag of Namibia comprises a red diagonal band with white edges from the lower hoist corner of the flag to the upper fly corner of the flag. The upper section of the flag is blue, inside which sits a yellow sun with 12 triangular rays, said to represent life and energy. The lower section of the flag is green.
The flag of Namibia was officially adopted on 21 March 1990 following the country gaining its independence from South Africa.
