Myanmar Burma 1974-2010 flag
This Myanmar Burma 1974-2010 flag was the national flag of Burma and later Myanmar from 1974-2010. The flag was adopted on 3 January 1974 when the new socialist republic was declared. The flag is set on a red field with a blue canton feturing a gear and rice plant circled by 14 stars, all in white. The gear and rice plant was the logo of the Burma Socialist Programme Party - the rice representing agriculture and the gear representing industry. The flag's 14 stars represent each of the 14 member states of the Union. The flag's ratio is 5:9.
