The flag of Latvia is a horizontal tricolour of (from the top of the flag to the bottom of the flag) maroon, white (half width) and maroon.
The flag of Latvia was originally adopted on 18 November 1918; however, was not in use following the 1940 Soviet occupation of the country. The flag was re-adopted on 27 February 1990 prior to Latvia regaining its independence.
The flag's ratio is 1:2.
