The flag of the Ivory Coast is a vertical tricolour featuring the colours (from the hoist side of the flag to the fly side of the flag) orange, white and green. The flag's design is based on the French tricolour and is the same colours as the flag of Niger, whom the Ivory Coast was aligned with at the time of the flag's adoption.
The flag of the Ivory Coast was officially adopted on 3 December 1959, just prior to the country gaining its independence from France.
The flag's ratio is 2:3.
