This Italy Sardinia flag is the official flag of the Italian region of Sardinia and comprises a white field with a red cross, each quadrant of the flag containing a Moor's head in black wearing a white bandana and facing towards the fly side of the flag. The flag is sometimes referred to as the 'Four Moors'.
The flag design dates back to 1281; however, was not officially adopted by Sardinia until 1950. The current version of the flag dates back to 15 April 1999.
