The flag of Estonia is a horizontal tricolour featuring the colours (from the top of the flag to the bottom of the flag) blue, black and white. The flag is sometimes referred to as the 'Sinimustvalge' (meaning 'blue-black-white).
The flag of Estonia was first adopted on 16 July 1922 following the country gaining its independence. Estonia used a different flag during its time under Soviet rule before the flag of 1922 was officially re-adopted on 7 August 1990 following the restoration of the country's independence.
