The flag of Dominica is set on a green field with a centred cross of three bands of yellow, black and white colouring. At the centre of the flag is a red disk bearing a purple Sisserou Parrot surrounded by ten green five-pointed stars. The flag's ten stars represent the ten parishes of Dominica whilst the Sisserou Parrot is a native bird.
The flag of Dominica was officially adopted on 3 November 1978 following the country gaining its independence from Britain (minor changes have been made since, the most recent in 1990). The flag was designed by playwright Alwin Bully.
The flag's ratio is 1:2.
