The flag of the Czech Republic comprises two equal horizontal bands of white (top of the flag) and red (bottom of the flag) with a blue triangle at the hoist side of the flag.
The flag of the Czech Republic is identical to that of the former Czechoslovakia (upon separation, the Czech Republic retained the former flag whilst Slovakia adopted a new flag). The flag was officially adopted by the new country on 1 January 1993.
