The flag of Chad is a vertical tricolour comprising the colours (from the hoist side of the flag to the fly side of the flag) blue, yellow and red.
The flag of Chad was officially adopted on 6 November 1959 in the process of Chad gaining its independence from France. The flag's design is based on the blue, white and red French tricolour combined with the Pan-African colours of green, yellow and red.
