The flag of Syria is a horizontal tricolour with the colours (from the top of the flag to the bottom of the flag) green, white and black. In the centre of the white band sit three red five-pointed stars. The flag's colours of green, white and black are the Pan-Arab colours whilst the three stars represent the three districts of the First Syrian Republic.
The present day flag of Syria was adopted on 8 December 2024 following the fall of the Assad regime. The flag is a modified version of the Independence flag adopted by the First Syrian Republic in 1930 and had been used as a symbol of the Syrian Opposition since 2011.
The flag's ratio is 2:3.
