Australian Capital Territory flag

The flag of the Australian Capital Territory or ACT (a territory within Australia) consists of a blue panel at the hoist side of the flag with the Southern Cross throughout and a gold panel at the fly side of the flag with the Coat of Arms of the ACT. The ACT gained self government in 1989; however, it did not officially adopt a flag until 1993, following a competition in which artists and residents of the ACT could propose a design for the new flag. The current flag was the winning design and was designed by Ivo Ostyn. The ratio of the flag of the ACT is 1:2.

The ACT flag uses the city of Canberra's (the capital city of the ACT) official colours of blue and gold.

The flag of the ACT differs from other Australian state flags as it does not feature the Blue Ensign. It is more similar in design to the flag of the Northern Territory.
